Holding the Bow, Violin, and Eggs Song

Violin beginners, this video is for you! Watch this video every day and do the exercises in the video. Practice making a bow hold and plucking the eggs song every day to prepare for your next lesson!

VIOLIN SUPPLIES

Case Essentials

Violinists must have certain tools to help them be successful. Check to make sure your case has these things:

- Rosin
- Cleaning Cloth
- Extra Strings (in case one breaks!)
- Sponge or Shoulder rest
- Tuner or Metronome (for intermediate and advanced students)

TUNING THE VIOLIN

It gets easier with practice!

The violin is tuned to these pitches:

E (highest and thinnest string)
A
D
G (lowest and thickest string)

Do not attempt to tune with the pegs (let your teacher help you with this!). Use the fine tuners (near the bridge) to adjust the pitch. Turning them righty-tighty makes the pitch go up, lefty-loosy makes the pitch go down.
